• Key Run: With Wake Forest leading 19-14 with 1:13 left in the first half, the Deacons went on a 14-0 run to extend the lead to 19 points. Winston-Salem State only scored two points in a span of 12:32 late in the first half and into the start of the second half.
• Key Stat: The Demon Deacon defense was stifling all night, holding the Rams to 13-of-46 (28.3 percent) shooting from the field. The Deacon defense forced 22 turnovers in the game.
• The 31 points scored by the Rams are the fewest allowed by Wake Forest in the ACC era (since the 1953-54 season). The 14 points scored in the first half are the fourth-fewest scored in a half by a Wake Forest opponent and the fewest since Campbell scored 13 points in a half on December 9, 1989.
• Wake Forest shot 22-of-42 (52.4 percent) from the floor. The Deacons have shot over 50 percent in every game this season.

• James Johnson led Wake Forest with nine rebounds in the game. Johnson also scored seven points, dished out two assists, had one block and three steals.
• Al-Farouq Aminu failed to score in double digits for the first time in his career, tallying six points in the contest. Aminu brought down eight rebounds and had one block.
• Sophomore guard Ishmael Smith saw his first playing time of the season. Smith brought down two rebounds and handed out two assists in 11 minutes of action.
