A wild pitch from Feldman allowed Brooks to score the tying run all the way from second and moved Stadler to third. Lubanski followed with a sacrifice fly to right field to score Stadler and put Gold in front 2-1. The Black team was able to muster a hit in both the seventh and eighth innings, but couldn't plate the tying run. The Gold team had good scoring chances in both the third and fourth innings. In the third, Langston led off the inning with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Heyman. Dimock was able to get Brooks to fly out to center and Stadler to ground out to first to end the threat with no runs scoring. Gold again created a scoring threat in the fourth frame. With one out, Williamson doubled down the left field line and Martin Kelly walked to put runners at first and second. After Taylor Kaprive flew out to left field, Kelly and Williamson executed a double steal to advance to second and third. Langston walked to load the bases.
