Craig Zakrzewski begins his eighth year as assistant equipment manager, where he works with the Deacon men's and women's basketball teams. In addition, he is responsible for the equipment needs for the Wake Forest women's soccer program and the men's and women's tennis teams. Zakrzewski is a member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) and is a participant in the Nike EM/T Footwear Testing Program. A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Zakrzewski earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Wake Forest in 2000. While an undergraduate at Wake Forest, he was the Head Student Manager for the Demon Deacon men's basketball team, where he was a member of the 2000 NIT Championship team, and he also worked with the Demon Deacon football team. Prior to return to Wake Forest in August 2002, Zakrzewski worked two years as a Financial Analyst and Commercial Banking Lender for M&T Bank Corporation in Buffalo, N.Y. and Philadelphia, PA. Zakrzewski and his wife, Jennifer, also a 2000 Wake Forest graduate, reside in Winston-Salem. Their son, Luke Stephen, was born in March 2005 and they recently welcomed a daughter, Hailey Frances, in April 2009. A huge supporter of all things Buffalo, Zakrzewski is also a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. |
