Todd Hairston is in his fifth year at Wake Forest and his second as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. In his role with the Deacons, Hairston is responsible for the interpretation and enforcement of all NCAA rules and legislation in the Wake Forest Athletics Department. Hairston, a 1996 graduate of Wake Forest, joined the Deacon staff in 2005 as the Assistant Director of Compliance. After one year in that role, he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance in 2006 and then moved into his current role in 2008. Hairston has held a variety of roles in intercollegiate athletics since his graduation. After earning his degree in Health and Exercise Science, he served as a laboratory research technician at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. After a stint as a Student Athletic Trainer at Tennessee State, he went to Meharry Medical College in Nashville where he earned a Master of Science in Public Health in 1999. His first compliance role came at Florida State in 2000 and after a year with the Seminoles, he became the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Maryland Eastern Shore in 2001. Hairston was named the Director of Compliance at George Mason in 2003 and was with the Patriots for two years before coming to Wake Forest in 2005. A native of Walnut Cove, N.C., Hairston earned his Ph.D. at Florida State in 2004. He has served as an adjunct professor in the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy, SportsCOM Program at Wake Forest. Hairston and his wife, Kristen, are the parents of two children - Joseph (5) and Ava (3). |
